Welcome

Thank you for visiting our website. Forest Hills UMC truly is a Church for everyone. From the loving caretakers in our nursery, to our amazing worship and fellowship area, to our intimate prayer chapel, there are so many things we would like to show you we cannot list them all. We offer two services on Sunday mornings: a blended worship service at 8:30 a.m. and a traditional service at 11 a.m., as well as Sunday School classes for all ages.

In addition, we invite you to join us at our Wednesday evening activities. These start with a family dinner from 5:15 to 6 p.m., followed by many activities for all ages, including a family Bible Study for both children and their parents. We also have recently opened our new playground for all our children to enjoy. This was completed by the Forest Hills Day School, which provides daily childcare and preschool for ages 6 weeks through 5 years.

Our church is open to all and we hope to see you soon. The office is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please call us at 373-3131, or stop by any time for us to answer any questions and show you around our facilities. We feel this is truly a place all can feel at home. We are blessed to be a church that offers so many worship opportunities while being small enough so no one gets 'lost in the shuffle.'

Our Location We are located one block west of the intersection of Old Hickory Blvd. and Granny White Pike in southern Davidson County [Map].

Our Mission We are constantly seeking to determine God's mission for us as we move into God's future. We recognize that all of us need to receive as well as give, and that together we can help one another be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

As part of the Body of Christ, our mission together is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. The One who saves us calls us to seek and sustain one another and sends us into the world to serve others. We are on a journey that has its beginning and its end in God. [About our logo]

History Forest Hills had its beginning in 1891 in the Waverly-Belmont section of Nashville on 11th Ave. South. In 1971 the first services were held in the present location. The pipe organ came from the original sanctuary. Our membership comes from a wide area (over 20 zip codes) in Williamson and Davidson Counties, and our ministries reach throughout our community and with other churches around the world.

Chapel of the Good Shepherd Our unique prayer chapel is a separate facility on the south lawn designed for quite meditation and prayer. Follow the path off the courtyard. It is environment controlled and open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Library In Petie Heard Hall, Forest Hills has a well stocked library of Christian books and videos for adults and children. Included in the collection is a good selection of reference texts including the United Methodist Church Book of Discipline. Members are invited to browse the shelves and use the self-sign out procedure.
