The Day School of Forest Hills UMC is a vital ministry of our church and community. The children are loved, nurtured, and taught in an atmosphere of Christian compassion and caring. Your interest in the ministry indicates that you want for your children that which we strive to provide: a safe, fun, learning center, where children can grow and mature while strengthening their natural process of development and learning. We consider it a privilege and honor to minister to our community in such a valuable way.
OUR MISSION
To create a nurturing environment:
AGES
We enroll children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. We offer a 5-year Pre-K class for children with late summer and fall birthdays. Children's placement in each class is determined by his/her age by September 30th of each school year. For our 3-5 year old classes, children MUST be potty trained in order to enroll in our program.
HOURS
Our hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Our doors remain locked during these hours except during arrival and dismissal. We also offer daily extended care from 2:00 p.m. to 2:55 p.m. (optional).
DAILY SCHEDULES
Our daily schedules and lesson plans are posted in each classroom. Each day is structured around creative learning. Children participate in various, age appropriate activities that enhance and promote fine motor skills, lanuage development, creative expression, emotional development, letter & number recognition (for older children) and learning through play.
SPECIALS
In addition to our fun filled daily schedules, children also participate in chapel, music and spanish (ages 4&5 only). We also schedule enjoyable activities throughout the year such as puppet shows, international day, pajama day, storytime, water day etc.
STAFF
